Overview
Carrington was built for the entire WordPress community, both developers and end-users alike. Some people will appreciate the unlimited potential the new theme organization offers. Others will love the way AJAX optionally loads the comments right on the homepage. In any case, we’re confident that this new framework is the best thing since the wheel and sliced bread.

A Perfect Base for a CMS
In many cases, the current theme organization works well. But, we decided to take it a few steps further and allow for atomic elements that support the current WordPress naming convention. In other words, posts in different categories can be explicitly defined in a different manner. Or, posts by certain authors can apply different stylings. It’s complex, but this is more than a theme; it’s a theme framework.
The benefit of this new organization means each atomic element can be handled distinctly. Therefore, we can do slick things like pre-load comments right on the home and archive pages with AJAX. You’ll see the same optional treatment with entire post content on archive listings. Plus, you’ll notice the theme looks, well, really good.
Born From Necessity, Still Growing
Carrington is the result of many years of building WordPress powered sites. We’ve built Carrington to be flexible enough to handle the requirements we see in real world projects. This initial release is just the tip of the iceberg for what Carrington will become.

Lijit Search
Designed to give WordPress users a better experience, this plugin integrates with the built-in search to give more relevant results from the blogger’s network of content. Login, registration and analytics are all provided within the WordPress dashboard for an end-to-end solution.
PhoneFactor
PhoneFactor adds two-factor security to the WordPress login system by requiring users to confirm a login attempt by accepting a call from PhoneFactor and pressing the # key.
Progressive License
Allows for publishers to license their content differently based on it’s age. Comes pre-loaded with seven Creative Commons licenses and allows for additional licenses to be added.
tagaroo
Built with Reuters’ Calais web service, tagaroo fetches semantic data (people, places, events, etc.) relevant to your blog post that you can use as tags. It will also use these tags to search Flickr for appropriately licensed images for you to use in your blog posts.

Provides a quick, simple to use, and unobtrusive way for visitors to add your content to many social bookmarking sites, or to send a link via email, AIM, Facebook, MySpace and more.
AnswerLinks
Suggests links to definitions and more on Answers.com for terms in your blog post. Then allows you to choose the links you want to include.
VodPod
Allows you to collect videos from thousands of sites and insert them into WordPress as an interactive gallery, or “pod.”

WordPress Install (SVN Checkout) Script
Created with developers in mind, this shell script will walk you through a checkout of multiple versions of WordPress from SVN and set up the requisite config file and database structure. This makes it easy to create a series of installs for testing purposes.
WordPress Compatibility Functions
Provided as a plugin for developers with some uncommon-yet-useful checks for compatibility.
